Caring for your clothes made of delicate fabrics

Entretenir ses vêtements en tissus nobles

Investing in quality clothing made from noble fabrics is a wise choice, but it is also essential to know how to care for them properly to preserve their beauty over time. Here are our expert tips for caring for your favorite pieces and extending their lifespan.

Silk and Satin

Silk is a delicate fabric that requires special attention. Always hand wash your silk items in lukewarm water (maximum 30 degrees Celsius) with a mild, silk-specific soap. Never wring the fabric to dry it: instead, roll it in a terry towel to absorb excess water. Dry flat, away from direct sunlight, which could alter the colors. For ironing, use a low-temperature iron on the reverse side of the fabric, or even better, a garment steamer.

Linen and Premium Cotton

Linen improves with time and washing, becoming softer and more supple. Machine wash your linen garments at a maximum of 40 degrees Celsius on a delicate cycle, and remove them immediately to avoid wrinkles. Iron linen while it is still slightly damp for optimal results. Premium cotton can withstand higher temperatures, but washing at 30 degrees Celsius will better preserve colors and fiber structure.

Storage and General Precautions

Proper storage is essential to preserve your clothes. Hang abayas and dresses on padded hangers to prevent shoulder marks. Fold delicate fabric hijabs in tissue paper. Protect your clothes from moths with natural lavender sachets rather than chemical products. Finally, treat stains immediately: the longer you wait, the harder they will be to remove. A gentle stain remover applied locally before washing will work wonders on most common stains.
